You'll need to set startOnPageLoad to false:

window.paceOptions = {
  startOnPageLoad: false

before bringing in the pace javascript file.

according to the doc,you can configure that. Just like this

paceOptions = {
ajax: false, // disabled
document: false, // disabled
eventLag: false, // disabled
elements: {
selectors: ['.my-page']
}
};

you should try it. hope it helps

When I insert the following code on top of pace.min.js

window.paceOptions = {
    document: false,
    ajax: false,
    eventLag: false, // disabled
};

I still can see the loading bar flashing on top of the page every time!? how can i prevent this?

thx. just for the logs ... before loading pace.js

/* manually only */
window.paceOptions = {
    startOnPageLoad: false
};

And then to show the progress indicator on ajax request (loading a modal) ...

var activeRequests = 0;

$(document).ajaxStart(function(){
  if (activeRequests == 0)
    Pace.stop(); // stop

  activeRequests++;
});
$(document).ajaxStop(function(){
  activeRequests--;

  if (activeRequests == 0)
    Pace.restart(); // show progress indicator
});

from pace.
