There are two questions here, one is is it possible in general. The answer is probably not. Your download would have to be happening in javascript, meaning as a result of an XMLHttpRequest
. That itself is fine, except you would need to then present that downloaded data to the user as a file. You can do this by constructing a data:
url, but support varies from browser to browser, chrome for example will name the file crdownload
, which is probably not what you want. The second problem is that it would only really work if the file was delivered with chunked encoding, and the browser in question supported XMLHttpRequest2
.
With all that said, it's also not possible in pace, as we don't yet have support for manually controlling which requests get monitored.
