Interesting, we haven't seen that before. Do you have a jsfiddle demo? Or does it happen everywhere PACE is used (should I be able to see it on the demo page?).

I tried to come up with a simple repro but was having trouble. Is there some trick to getting Pace working in jsFiddle with the echo api?
The app I'm having issues with is an AngularJS thing with fairly heavy javascript, so it's possible that there's so much happening on the UI thread that the browser is deciding it doesn't have time to paint things.
I noticed that nProgress has a line reading offsetLeft or something to try to force a refresh, so I feel like they had problems with this at some point, although I had no success with that particular technique.

Should be fixed in https://github.com/HubSpot/pace/releases/tag/v0.4.16
