This is very doable. I think there's going to be a section on the site with a few guides in it soon, which could include this. The way it's going to work is that the site will pull in some of the files in the guides repo through a submodule.
Perhaps this would fit well as part of a "Where to Find Data" guide?

I started a file over at https://github.com/codefordc/guides/blob/master/where-to-get-data.md. Feel free to add to it. I think the idea is that we'll link to sites with datasets rather than directly to individual datasets.
