Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about this particular issue. I haven't changed anything that would affect games in particular...the switching logic is pretty much exactly the same. The crashes likely have more to do with the terrible discrete NVIDIA drivers in Lion (people have been getting kernel panics left and right).
The best thing you can do is to file a bug report with Apple at http://bugreport.apple.com (believe me, they are listening). The more people that file bugs, the higher priority this issue will be given.
