Think it is useful and we could incorporate it in the file middleware

I don't need this, what I do need is core/https/storage.go
and maybe adapt that a little for DNS needs. Mostly storing signing keys for zones and secondary zone file (which are now only kept in memory).
I also want to extend the Corefile syntax to be able to use ~
as a syntax element for reference to the local storage.

Also all relative links in a Corefile should be revolved from the Corefile's working directory. And then making /
(absolute) and ~
(home dir for coredns stuff)

hmmm, when you get a Corefile on stdin, it's hard to do a relative path from the stdin. Doing a relative path from Corefile could be difficult... Maybe not doing anything in the Corefile might be better, still leave the option for writing stuff to the .coredns home location.
