Is there a sample UI representation that you can share with us? (I totally understood your point, however would be ideal to see a solution from UX point of view).

Well, Github is a perfect example.. look to the right.. they call it "Labels" instead of tags.. Labels might be a better name for it :)
Wordpress Blogs are another example. They use the term "Tags". multiple tags can be associated to a blog post, with a total list of all navagational tags on the right to show all the associated blog posts with that tag.

So you understand my vision behind this, i'll explain how i see it implemented.
Have tags (or labels) associated to apps.
I would have a "games" label associated to all my games.
I would also have tags for various genre's of games.. "Platform", "Racing", "Kids" .. etc.
Thus would allow me to view all applications that have games tag. or platform tag. etc. And hopefully this could also be used for the aggregation of numbers in that tag (albeit slow in gathering results).
It could also be used in user access.. ie, a user can only view data of applications with the tag "games"..

Current version provide all apps view with ability to filter app names that include provided substring and compare apps. That should fill this gap :)
