Lianze:
It appears that the table ctgov.brief_summaries has a column "description"
containing the brief_summary. This field has values. The sql query tool may
not show the text populated in the column. If you export the results as
CSV, the text will show,

If I remember right, a while back I noticed that pgAdmin did not always display the content of certain text columns. (I think it was pgAdmin, but don't remember the version.) I just ran the following query: select description from brief_summaries where nct_id='NCT03615508'; using psql and it returns the value in that column. As datnoor mentioned, it seems to be related to the query tool. You might try using a different one. I'm able to see the content of ctgov.brief_summaries.description using psql versions 9.2.23 & 10.4.

Thank you guys, yes, it is bc of the query tool. I am using pgAdmin4 v3 on windows. I was using the same tool on Mac OS and didn't remember there were empty columns. That's why I am confused. Thanks again!
