We don't run awoo behind an nginx reverse proxy, and it has worked successfully behind a lighttpd reverse proxy in the past. The issue you referenced has no information on why one is better than the other, and I don't know that use Rack::Session::Cookie will properly respect the session secret that we set when awoo starts.
