2020-2021: Flipgrid @ Microsoft - Platform Analytics Engineer

Summary

Platform engineering and analytics support for the Microsoft Flipgrid platform during the height of COVID-driven remote education. Initiatives included migration of legacy software to Azure Kubernetes Service, multi-lingual transcription support through Azure Media Services, database performance tuning and scaling with RDS Proxy and throughput enhancements of the datalake ETL pipeline on AWS Redshift.

2018-2020: ReachLocal @ Gannett Digital - Software Engineer

Summary

Full stack development for Gannett's B2B SaaS solutions for ReachLocal. Solutions included larger Ruby on Rails application on AWS ECS, with smaller microservices deployed as lambdas and Google Cloud cloud functions. As part of this particular M&A engagement, lead attribution was migrated from Cassandra to MySQL as a datastore through the use of AWS Kinesis and Firehose.
