I believe with hatch
something like this would work:
name: Publish to PyPI
on:
push:
tags:
- 'v*'
jobs:
deploy:
runs-on: ubuntu-latest
steps:
- name: Check out repository
uses: actions/checkout@v2
- name: Set up Python
uses: actions/setup-python@v2
with:
python-version: 3.x
- name: Install dependencies
run: |
python -m pip install --upgrade pip
pip install hatch
- name: Build and publish
env:
PYPI_USERNAME: ${{ secrets.PYPI_USERNAME }}
PYPI_PASSWORD: ${{ secrets.PYPI_PASSWORD }}
run: |
hatch build
hatch publish

Here is some documentation around authenticating with PyPi.. It sounds like we should:
- Use dbt Labs PyPi to create the API token. Reach out to me if needed
- set pypi username to
__token__
- set pypi_password to
pypi-{token}
Create a secret for the token and use that in CI. Honestly probably use a secret for username as well just to obscure from anyone looking. I've updated the above section to reflect this.
Plan
Try out a distribution Github Action to Test PyPi and make sure it works first!
