Support custom svg map with bubble overlay about dc.js HOT 3 CLOSED

Here's my +1 on this.

I hacked in some support to work with some proprietary data to make changes on the fly to a Leaflet map. It's probably not realistic or smart to depend on yet another library but it would be interesting to see DC.js support geojson and a mapping library that isn't drawn using D3.

On one of my recent project we did pretty much the same thing with geojson and leaflet but the end result was not that impressive at all. So we switched to use some hand drawn svg map with bubble overlay which actually turn out pretty cool and handy. At the moment, I am planning to introduce this type of support for custom svg map, still not entirely sure if a standard geo map chart should be part of dc.js since in my experience its usually end of being too custom to be accommodated by a charting library. You almost always end of better handcraft that kind of visualization, of course I could be wrong though :)
