I don't have any issue running ga/knapsack.py of DEAP 1.0.0 with Python 2.7. The comma is intented, since every mutation returns an iterable of individuals (in this case, an iterable of one individual). This is done this way to be consistent with the other operators. Did you modify the knapsack example? Especially, is the line "return individual," (with the comma) present at the end of the mutSet fonction (line 81 of knapsack.py)?
