We also use ansible-galaxy to install this role, it looks like we have been using old version the whole time before this week.

Hey @manfredlift,
I see you're using Ansible 2.5.1. This is a rather old, unsupported version. Can you try with a more up-to-date vesion, at least 2.7?

Just want to say that on v8.0.0 and v8.1.0, this works fine.
I tested on ubuntu 18.04 as well.
My Ansible version is v2.9.7
