This is actually due to the fact that an io.Writer has no context which knows about the concurrency of the logging system. The writer is stopping mid-stream because the context is being cancelled and application is being halted. This is not likely that is something that can be fixed without serious design consideration.
This also is only noticeable on applications at the point of exit because otherwise the io.Writer would be able to write the entire buffer out.
