Keep in mind, that as of now, CherryMusic is a pure server-client solution, where the client acts as the musicplayer. That means, that you can't tell the server to stop/start any music, as the server can't play any music in the first place.

right, one needs another client for that. thats why i said it might be "a little early for that".
what about the daemon-like commands "start/stop/restart"(+maybe "updatedb")?

We will definately introduce those in the future. Right now, if you want to run the server without being logged in, you have to be root or run it inside a screen. This might be a little unfortunate, but i think our first audience will understand.

In the next release, there will be options to start and stop the daemon, so that it can act like a "server" and not like a "program". But we will also keep the functionality for the windows port, since windows users probably think nothing happens, when they see nothing.
