The ones that become less skewed tend not to have had a lot of species added. But it is v common to have few species added and to become more skewed. There's really no relationship between becoming more or less skewed and the skew %ile of the raw vector (except of course for bounding up at 100 - you can't become more skewed if you are already the most).
