Last release happened this January, with little to no activity since then, there are 10 PRs left hanging, project doesn't seem actively maintained, but I wouldn't call it stale either.
Couldn't run their demos (app hanged during startup), but could build and play with a simple app by following their tutorials.
The development experience was generally positive, everything seemed to work fine (including IPC, debugging), with no major issues encountered.
Can't decide if using it is a good or bad idea. Lack of recent activity is a bit worrisome, but nothing was broken for me, project seems usable, clearly in a better state than Avalonia. It probably deserves that you give it a try also, so you can compare it with your experience in using the original version.
I also found an alternative, Chromely, which seems less popular, but with more active maintenance (0/42 vs 10/120 PRs).
I will create a separate issue for it.
