What is the full error message you are getting?

I am having the same problem, except mine are sharing 1 database, it doesn't give any errors when loading, but when I go to login it gives this error.
Unexpected non-MediaWiki exception encountered, of type "Exception"
That is all that is being displayed in the web browser.

The last version of MW I tested this with was MediaWiki 1.11.x On the wiki. http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:PHPBB/Users_Integration it looks like people posted it working with 1.12.x and 1.17.x. It might not work with current versions of MW and phpBB3.
