I'm a software developer who (among other things):

  • was born in πŸ‡§πŸ‡· in 1985
  • learned to code in BASIC in 1997 using an old CP200S
  • started learning Linux in 1998 using Slackware
  • got my first part-time paid job as software developer at 14 years old in 2000, working mainly with PHP at the time
  • started dabbling with Ruby in 2003
  • started computer science program in 2004, at PUC-RS
  • was present when DHH gave his first presentation on Rails, in 2005 at the FISL conference in Porto Alegre, Brazil
  • started working professionally with Rails in 2006/2007 at Surgeworks
  • co-created the RailsRumble, a world-wide RubyOnRails virtual hackathon that helped with Rails dissimination
  • learned and started working with Go in 2011
  • joined Thoughtworks in 2011
  • joined Doximity in 2012 and moved to San Francisco, CA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ, working with both Rails and Go on multiple projects
  • started learning Rust in 2015, after it's public release (still my favorite language)
  • in 2020, switched to mainly platform and infrastructure development, led the migration to Kubernetes and the development of Doximity's internal PaaS
