Trying to build version mu-0.9.8.2 (as well as latest source) on

my sent mail saved into my sent folder.

Hmm, the problem below looks some kind of encoding issue, and I don't
think it's related to the missing mails in the sent folder.

Anyway, some things to check:

  • is your mu4e-sent-folder set up correctly?
  • what email service are you using? GMail + IMAP by any chance?
  • do you get any error messages?
  • what happens to your draft messages when they're sent? do they
disappear completely, or do they just fail to be moved to the sent
    folder?

Thanks in advance! Hope we can find out what is going on...

the encoding thing makes perfect sense, i am likely missing some utf8 (or something else) type of library or package. I despise ubuntu 10, but my hosting provider only uses LTS. things work perfectly fine in 11.10, but since i was having the sending issue i thought it could be connected.

Regarding the sent issue, this was my own doing and me just missing something that i didn't do properly. I byte compiled the mu4e_.el files but apparently did not do it correctly or only byte compiled some and had old versions sitting around. I cleaned out stuff in site-lisp/mu4e/_ and just left the .el files.

closing out, thanks for the help and a wonderful product (sauron is amazing as well).

Ah, thanks for the update. I should check 10.04 anyway, it seems quite
some people are using that.

Thanks for the nice words! Please let me know if you find any other
