I think it may be related to an outdated Gradle version^{1, 2}. I am unable to reproduce the error on my machine. I use the following Gradle version.

$ gradle --version

@DMaroo - After using an AI-helper to update the buildExtention.gradle I am now getting the following error.

> Requires at least Gradle 7.3, but was run with 4.4.1

After purging my Linux distro's gradle (the 4.4.1 version) and installing Gradle with SDKMAN! the build/install works :D
