It seems for me that lxd-webgui is trying to find lxd-api on port 8000 instead of port 9000.
Have you tried changing the configuration of lxd-webgui, so it accesses port 9000?

Note:

  • lxd-api: Usually port 9000, on the server(s) where the container are deployed
  • lxd-webgui: Usually port 8000, mostly on the host, served via http-server

I was having the same issue you were having. After setting core.https_allowed_origin to https://:8000 and setting the LXD Server host:port to https://:9000 the interface started working. When I created the certificates for the web and lxd servers, I used the FQDN for the server. If you use the FQDN, you must use the FQDN for each of the fields listed earlier in this post.
