Sorry for the slow reply, but I see no reason we cannot create one. I will add it to our list. If you have any suggestions for setting up memcached or any comments on the other official images, most are over in docker-library.

@yosifkit no worries about the reply times.
Something I found with memcached is that doesn't play nice with SIGTERM sent by Docker and always return a non-zero exit code. Only by doing SIGINT exit cleanly.

It would still be beneficial to have, correct? We could document on the hub that they should run docker kill -s=INT to stop memcached rather than the regular docker stop. We might be able to do docker stop -t=0, but I'll have to check once I have a memcached container.
