I tried vendors update again with the versions listed above and got the same error - if I remove the version constraint from DoctrineMongoDBBundle and pull from head, I get:
The autoloader expected class "Symfony\Bundle\DoctrineMongoDBBundle\DoctrineMongoDBBundle" to be defined in file "/usr/local/www/gemvara.com/local/app/../vendor/bundles/Symfony/Bundle/DoctrineMongoDBBundle/DoctrineMongoDBBundle.php". The file was found but the class was not in it, the class name or namespace probably has a typo.

the version for the bundle should be origin/2.0
