Yep same, looks like k8sec directly calls the cluster and does not go through kubectl that is configured to use heptio/aws-iam. Is it possible to give k8sec a service account ?

I released k8sec v0.7.0 which uses the latest Kubernetes client and enables external auth providers like GCP. Could you try this version?

Can confirm this works with EKS (Kubernetes 1.15) and the aws-iam-authenticator binary.

$ kubectl version --short

Server Version: v1.15.10-eks-bac369

$ aws-iam-authenticator version
