It would be a bit finicky to have it maintained in two places do you agree? As if the component improves, we would have to send it between each other all the time. Currently, our fixed version of it is now compiled with DocPad to make use of some nice post-processors.

I'm actually wondering about the practice here myself, if web components are truly generic, then why are they always in project specific repos? Rather than in one big repo all together? Or one single web-components org?

Update, moved this inquiry here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23050440/where-should-web-components-live

I modernized the demo yesterday. It should work now with the news styling changes to Shadow DOM: http://html5-demos.appspot.com/hangouts. That's the one I'm maintaining. I know there are a few other copies elsewhere. That's my bad and a product of me being lazy before giving a presentation :(

What you see today is elements on customelements.io and from the Polymer team living in individual repos. That's the way to go. Most of the stuff I've created here is not meant to be reusable.

Related: one thing that we're fleshing out on the Polymer-side is providing a common way to document elements, provide a demo and landing page, and give a download option other than Bower.

Here's an example:

From this type of setup, the hope is that we can kickstart the component ecosystem with catalogs that aggregate everyone's stuff. Webcomponents.org will be a great place for that.
