Sorry, I just saw this. Have you seen the online resources for the book? In the updates section, look at "Pygame on macOS". In short, you can use one of the more recent development versions of Pygame if the stable version is not working on your system:
$ python -m pip install pygame==2.0.0.dev6
from pcc_2e.
