Thank you for reporting this issue with Firefox!
I'm seeing a slightly different issue with pages like https://component.kitchen/demos/autoSizeTextarea.html. There I see Firefox 93 complain about setFormValue missing, whereas the error you cite mentions setValidity.
Mozilla has partially implemented the ElementInternals API, so that it defines attachInternals but not setValidity or setFormValue. Elix was previously checking for setValidity, but not setFormValue. I've just checked in a fix for the latter.
With that, you still won't be able to use Elix components to submit data inside of
elements — that won't happen until Mozilla finishes their implementation of form element support. But at least components should properly render and work on Firefox.This fix will go out in the next release of Elix. In the meantime, if you're able to, you can try what's on #main and let me know if it resolves the issue you're seeing.
