Why would you need to have your own version query string on an asset?

It's not my CSS file. I'm using the addon to rewrite a web font path to the location in which the font asset actually resides relative to the vendor-supplied CSS file.

Can you please investigate if this is still an issue for you with the most recent version? If so, a failing test case would be very helpful.
