Hi @trikosuave
Can you give a better description of how you have your triggers defined? It sounds to me like you have it setup so that the template job is triggered by the sync job, ala upstream/downstream builds? Can you better describe how you have your sync and template jobs setup?
We definitely use triggers in our templated jobs (both SCM monitoring triggers as well as downstream triggers) and have had no issue with those being copied over. It sounds like you may have a use case which it isn't designed for or that we just never expected, so any info is helpful!
