Hi,
this sounds like a really good idea! I think breaking out the common rendering stuff is they way to go. I'll play around with it later (far to bsy with school at the moment) and try to migrate tmux-powerline to use that lib. I'll support this project :-)

That's great! Powerline is still in alpha, so there's no rush. Note that I'll probably change some file paths later on so don't merge any support for the python port into your main branch just yet.
Please let me know if there's anything I can do to better support external plugins like this one by opening an issue in the Powerline repo. :)
