There is no easy way to achieve what you describe using AaT. In fact, AaT purposely uses an tenant_id in every table to prevent accidentally querying outside of the tenant scope.
Why is an extra column bothering you? Like you say, it's faster this way as well.

It just slightly offends my academic view of SQL, I suppose. It's a lot of duplicated data, and I wouldn't allow that sort of duplication anywhere else in my schema. However, this is a bit of a special case, so I may cave :P
