Need to place calls to Google Maps in try-catch blocks about esgf-web-fe HOT 1 OPEN

Try catch blocks must be placed in solr.js surrounding the geo widget register:

try {
Manager.addWidget(new AjaxSolr.GeospatialSearchWidget({
id: 'geo_browse'
}));
} catch (err) {
LOG.debug("can't load google");
}

Another try catch block must be placed in the <script> tag that imports the
google maps api. This is a little trickier.

Possible solution is the following (found from

Write a separate js (say geochecker.js) file with the following code:

script.src = 'server.js';
script.type = 'text/javascript';
script.defer = true;
script.id = 'scriptID'; // This will help us in referencing the object later
for removal
// Insert the created object to the html head element
var head = document.getElementsByTagName('head').item(0);
head.appendChild(script);

Surround the code with a try catch block, then include this script in
scriptsearch.jsp. The script will then append the google maps js api if it is
found.
