This bug may be compositor specific or have something to do with your keyboard layout.

I do not encounter this behaviour on Arch 6.6.7-arch1-1 / Hyprland v0.33.1.

EDIT: the log above seems to indicate you are using the United Kingdom keyboard layout (gb). For completeness sake, I switched my keyboard layout and retested. Espanso continues to work normally on my setup.

Update to this - I think I have narrowed this down a bit as to what is triggering the problem.

In my config/default.yml I have set the following

keyboard_layout:
   layout: "gb"

This is because espanso would not recognise my UK keyboard layout under Wayland and would see the @ symbol as " . Setting the keyboard layout fixes that problem and I am able to expand (e.g.) @stu to my gmail address.

I have a couple of expansions defined using ':' as a trigger character. I have found that if that expansion contains a a capital-S then espanso flips the case of the expansion from that point onwards.

For example if I define

- trigger: ":ns"
    replace: "Nova Scotia"

The on an X11 system, :ns would become Nova Scotia. On my Wayland system, it expands to Nova sCOTIA, turns on Caps Lock and then from that point expansions will only work with Caps Lock until I restart espanso or reload the config files.

I was running this on Xero Linux with KDE Plasma. I have since wiped the laptop and am running Endeavour OS with a Gnome desktop.
