changing the 238 line to
if (type === 'newListener' && !this.wildcard) {fixes the issue. But you need to check if it won't slow down the performance.

Any fix for this? Just spent a few hours discovering the same thing, on v0.4.10 (currently on npm)
At line 249, it looks for the event in the _events container, but that container isn't updated by growListenerTree (called at line 348 if wildcard is true)

Hey - honest question, is this project still alive? This is a pretty big bug that's been open for 10 months now, two potential fixes submitted.

ok, i came up with a solution, pushed to master, tagged it, and then published 0.4.11 to npm.
