expanding on that,

  • if we store the metadata, where do we store it? on filecoin itself, locally, some hybrid solution?
  • how do I reference the data when pulling it out? what if I ran filecoin storefile a.zip twice where a.zip where two different files?

from specs.

This is a great fundamental UX question, I would add:

  • Do we want users to store bytes or do we want users to store files and folders (filesystem)?
  • Is Filecoin a lower lever or a higher lever protocol? Meaning:
    • Should the core functionalities should only support the byte level interactions (and then one could build on top higher level interactions?)
    • or, Should the core functionalities ALSO support higher level interactions (such as storing files and folders)?

from specs.
