Hi,
Are you sure that you apply the tax class independent if the customer is logged in or not. Check also the origin shipping address to a german address in the configuration page. If it's not correctly set, the tax class won't work as you wish.

did u checked the customer tax group in the "customer groups" settings?

Yes, I did, but I now see the poblem and I think it's a bug:

after running System|Magesetup|Setup the customer group view looks like this: http://screencast.com/t/yEApLTPJnb (ignore the "Endkunden" lines, explanation below).

But when you click one of the customer groups, it looks like this: http://screencast.com/t/BiONMlGP7QLs

Now, reading "Endkunden" there I said: "fine, everything is correct" and pressed back. I wondered a bit about the list view and "vollbesteuerter versand" but thought it's more an explanation than the value of the customer group.

when I press "save" instead of "back" the correct value is written into the db and everything works. not good.

I'm afraid there is a hardcoded value set for "Endkunden" customer group or something similar. Now unfortunately I cannot investigate deeply.

I'm having the exact same issue Perler. I guess it has to do with some changes came up with Magento 1.8.1. on which my shop is running. There were made some changes in the code (/app/code/core/Mage/Tax) probably which dont fit with the firegento code.

Sadly I'm also not a programmer..
