@elliotrtd thank you for the clarification! I think this is a valid proposal, so I will leave this as is for now, but your other bug is a valid bug that I have looked into, so I will re-open it and follow up there.

For example on my Google Pixel 7 - the "lower" resolution can still detect barcodes successfully. On my Xiaomi Pad 5 it cannot read barcodes at all with the lower resolution which the CameraX plugin falls back to.

@camsim99 I am using ResolutionPreset.High
You can refer to #144363 which was my issue report which contains some steps to reproduce it and some additional information. This was originally reported as a "bug" but this case is my proposed solution / enhancement ;)
Note that in this case some of the dependencies were older, but the behaviour is identical with the current version(s).
