nope, It's not appropriate. So, set_opencv should be called when we need to change the opencv object instance in that Point object. It's not appropriate to call it because you are using LK algorithm which means that the opencv object will be automatically updated by the Backend.

I'm not sure I understand--I thought the LK algorithm was for forehead tracking. Does this mean we shouldn't use set_opencv at all? What does it mean for a Point to have an opencv object instance?

When you call Point() with argument follow=True you're setting a Point in the image that will be follow using the LK Algorithm, so, there's no need to call set_opencv. If you don't want to use LK Algorithm then you should create the Point with follow=False and then use set_opencv to update the cvPoint instance object. =D
