Problems trying to add additional request headers about express-winston-middleware HOT 2 CLOSED

When you're using the request logger look to this https://github.com/FormidableLabs/express-winston-middleware#express-middleware and specifically this:

app.get("/foo", function (req, res) {
  res.locals._log.info("This is an extra manual log message!", {
    extra: "metadata"
  });
  // Rest of your code here...
});

The operative thing is the request logger is available as res.locals._log for each request. Add metadata to that, or log out extra messages as you see fit.

In your example above, you have a completely separate logger in the log variable. Typically you only instantiate like that for things for the server as a whole (like "server started up", "server failed", etc.)
