I'm not seeing this. Any other steps you can think of for reproducing the issue?

I've narrowed this down to our mandatory LastPass extension :(
I tested Chrome/Incogneto (no extensions) = clean, FF = Clean, Chrome in Browserstack = Clean.. ug.
For those who have a similar issues: leaving type='email' but adding name='search' seems to fix the problem. Yes, this could change in the future depending on LastPass's logic.
