- There exist tar versions which accept
--xattrs and --aclsand which refuse them. - It's required to restore the backup on a system which also supports them.
Given the fact that acls and xattrs are used rarely in Raspbian and the effort to get this implemented is huge there will be no support in raspiBackup for xattrs and acls.
There exist two options to force raspiBackup to use xattrs and acls:
DEFAULT_TAR_BACKUP_ADDITIONAL_OPTIONS=""
DEFAULT_TAR_RESTORE_ADDITIONAL_OPTIONS=""
which can be set to --acls --xattrs to enable xattrs and acls in backup and restore.
