Hi @toolonely , yes, it was. This originated from my own list format I use for various smaller projects and the titles for my items were all short. As such, while I'm not promising to make any changes in any reasonable timeframe (I don't spend a huge amount of time on this) I'm interested in hearing more about why you think it would be useful.

My rationale for having short (single line) titles would be that if you have large blocks of text one-after-the-other in a list which all share the same font styling it becomes hard to see where one ends and the other begins. My expectation was that having a single line title would allow all further details to go into the description and become less prominent in the displayed list, making it easier to see the start of each item (as it's of a heavier font). Where does this break down for you?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Having actually played with the app, and re-read your original title (which was very clear in the first place!) I return to apologize for getting the wrong end of the stick! While the title was always assumed to be single line, the description was not. It was supposed to allow for multi-line input and I consider it a bug that the current layout doesn't allow this.

Thanks again for reporting the issue.

Let me know if this fix doesn't work for you. It's included in fdroid version 1.1.0 - note that you might need to wait a week or so for that version to be rolled out.

The fix allows adding multiline descriptions indeed, but now I'm not happy with the default list view for really big descriptions: if the description is too big, the value in the sub-item count field is gone, since it is displayed at the center of the widget way past the screen area. The next items in the list are gone as well, since they get displayed after the huge description and getting to them requires lots of scrolling. To reproduce, just create an item with a giant description (I copypasted a random Wikipedia article). Is it possible to keep the old list view mode? I mean, when displaying the list itself, if the description of an item is multiline, display just the first line perhaps? It will still be possible to read the whole description when opening the item in edit mode.

@toolonely This should be done in the next pushed release (1.1.1). In the future I'd prefer to have the description expandable/always displayed at the users preference. Before that I'd need to add a preference system!
