Still getting 503's with it set to check every 3 minutes. Starts after a day or two. Crashes and requires restart.

Don't check reddit that fast: reddit doesn't like it and will ratelimit you.
I recommend running the bot in an environment where a crash automatically restarts it (such as via systemd). You may also want a daily restart, since individual feeds can die without the whole bot dying.
