Yep ! Very interesting point. 

For more generality, it should not be restricted to parameters and strings, however,
and neither to constant lists. But you're right in that it would allow for a cleaner
interface in the parameters view, and possibly a way to better control the batch as
well…

I have started this issue. Will try to work on it the next few days. 

An implementation has been done and already committed. However, it is a little bit raw
(if the value of the variable is not in the list of possible values, it becomes the
first one, the type of objects in the list is not checked, etc.)
