Not sure if the cross-domain JSON requests would be an issue as well? Solvable by offering a JSOP endpoint though.

I'll look into an SSL certificate for drupalreleasedate.com to avoid the mixed mode issues first.

I've added an SSL certificate to the domain, as well as a CORS Access-Control header so that cross-domain requests are possible.

There are a couple caveats for older browsers:

• The server doesn't have a unique IP, so Server Name Indication is required (no IE on Win XP)
• CORS only has partial support in IE 8/9, and may not be supported in jQuery until IE 10

I've now also added support for a JSONP callback by specifying a ?callback= parameter to the json requests.
