Assert on structure not specific instance type? about babel-plugin-tcomb HOT 4 CLOSED

Do you think it's worth it and possible to relax the rules so that we assert the structure only?

It would be confusing if you use a method in the function body:

const Person = t.struct({
  name: t.String,
  surname: t.String
}, `Person`);

Person.prototype.getFullName = function () {
  return `${this.name} ${this.surname}`;
};

function hello(x : Person) {
  // here you do rely on x being a Person...
  return 'Hello ' + x.getFullName();
}

// ...instead you get a TypeError
hello({ name: `jon`, surname: `doe`}); // throws "TypeError: x.getFullName is not a function"
