Currently the project folder structure isn't really setup with Heroku in mind.
Also, important to note that there are in fact two Node.js web applications, 'app' and 'api, running alongside one another. We typically use PM2 to manage this but I'm not aware of a good solution for PM2 on Heroku (it's kind of redundant with their load-balancing and process restart features anyway).
At this stage Heroku isn't likely to go onto the roadmap for this demo app.
Close the issue for now but feel free to continue the discussion; a pull request to add Heroku support would also be appreciated.
