Good question here.

You can obtain more details from sections of 5.2.1 and 5.2.2.

The term "unseen" means that training and testing set are individually collected and distributed. Otherwise, the term "seen" means that the training and testing samples are from the same distribution. In other words, in our content, we split an untrimmed video into pieces because long video clip is not compliable for deep algorithms and GPU hardware.

As for 'easy' and 'hard' splits, it is not very hard to understand. It means the difficulty level of our data.
